A small farm in Hatfield Peverel, Essex
producing fresh, meadow-reared eggs straight to your door.
our farm
Meadow-reared? You may be familiar with pasture-raised — it’s the same principles, applied here in a local British context.
We’re building a small farm to produce high-quality food for our local area. We farm in a way that works with the land — supporting soil life, encouraging biodiversity, and following natural patterns.
The result? Not just better flavour, but healthier land and a more resilient system.
Our journey starts with eggs, laid by hens out on the meadows — but it won’t stop there. We’ll be producing seasonal forest-raised pork, woodland mushrooms, and meadow-reared poultry, all from just down the road.
happy hens
Rearing our hens on meadows gives them outdoor access from dawn till dusk. Their coop? It moves. Their pen? That moves too. By moving the flock every two days we ensure fresh forage, plenty of space, better health and improved soil fertility.
Their feed is organic, their coop is predator-proof and their eggs? Outstanding. There are no cages or hard flooring. They forage on plants and insects, scratching and dust bathing as they should.
Collected daily and delivered within a few days of laying. It’s low-impact, small-scale, local food at its best.
